The Easy Storage Method For Long-Lasting Fresh Garlic
By ERICA ANDREWS
Of all the seasonings, garlic has to be one of the best; not only does it provide incredible flavor, but also, it’s highly nutritious, with the ability to protect you from getting sick and lower blood pressure. With so many benefits, you’ll want to keep your garlic fresh for as long as possible so follow this easy storage tip.
This tip comes from cooking guru and internet sensation, Babs, who offers helpful cooking advice and life tips on social media. Babs recently took to Instagram to offer a hack for storing garlic; she says to chop the cloves up, put them in a freezer-safe jar, top it off with a little olive oil, and then freeze.
The key is to top off the garlic with enough olive oil that it seals it in. Stored like this, the garlic can stay fresh for up to a year in the freezer, and about a week in the fridge. Babs’ fans were raving about the trick, with one writing “This will save me from smelly garlic fingers every time I cook.”
